# Threat models your teams can work on together

Clearly AI gives every system under review a shared workspace. Product owners answer security's questions. Reviewers debate findings and redraw the diagram together. Privacy and GRC see what security has already decided. The Clearly AI agent keeps the threat model current as new context comes in, and cites who provided it. Business stakeholders can join any review at no extra cost.

## Where did that answer end up?

Most of a review's time is spent going back-and-forth. Security needs to know what the system actually does, so the questions go out over email, Slack and Teams messages, and a spreadsheet. The product owner forwards half of them to someone else. Someone books a meeting to whiteboard the architecture, and the photo of the whiteboard never makes it into the threat model.

The answers arrive in five places. Privacy finds out about the new data flow a week after security approved it. The same question gets answered three different ways by three different reviewers. And when an auditor asks who confirmed that the service doesn't store card data, nobody can find the thread.

## Everyone works from the same review

Each review in Clearly AI lives in its own workspace, with everything the review depends on in one place:

- **The review itself:**
Findings, sources, and gaps, generated by the agent from the tickets, design docs, and code you point it at.
- **The conversation:**
Comments on any finding, questions to the business, and discussion among reviewers, attached to the part of the review they're about.
- **The diagram:**
A live architecture diagram your team edits together.
- **The agent:**
Ask it to go deeper on a finding or a component, and the whole team sees the answer.

## Get answers from the business without chasing them

Every review is a conversation with the team that's building the thing. Clearly AI keeps both directions of it in the review.

- **1. Get the context up front:** Product owners describe what they're building, what it does, and how it fits into the rest of the company, right in the review.
- **2. Ask what you’re missing:** Did we understand the system correctly? What did we miss? Send follow-up questions straight to the business owner by email, Slack, or Jira. They can answer from where they are, or pass a question to the teammate who actually knows.
- **3. Share what it takes to ship securely:** Share what it takes to ship securely and compliantly: the policies, standards, and secure patterns that apply, and how your team recommends meeting them.
- **4. Set fix-by dates from your SLAs:** When there are issues, the business sees what was found and how long they have to fix it under your SLAs.
- **5. Record every fix and risk acceptance centrally:** The business marks issues fixed or accepts the risk, and that decision is recorded next to the finding it resolves.

## Your threat model keeps up with the conversation

Open the system diagram in Draw.io, inside the review, and edit it with your team and the product owner at the same time. When the diagram changes, the threat model updates to match. No redrawing the architecture from a meeting photo, and no model that drifts away from the system it describes.

## New context, updated review, clear attribution

A comment reveals a new integration. A product owner answers a question about data retention. When new context lands in a review, Clearly AI suggests a re-run so the findings reflect it. Every finding cites where its support came from, including the person who provided it and when. Your reviewers can see exactly why a finding changed, and so can your auditors.

## Privacy and GRC work from the same review

Security isn't the only team reviewing what ships. Privacy, compliance, GRC, legal, and AI governance teams work in the same platform, so they can work from the same picture.

- **Flag what matters to another team.** Found a data flow privacy needs to see, or a model use that AI governance should weigh in on? Bring them into the review.
- **See what's already been decided.** Check what another team told a product team before you give them a different answer.
- **Get visibility without a new process.** Follow the reviews in your domain and hear about them while there's still time to weigh in and make changes.

## Your team's calls carry into the next review

Reviewers have to align, too. Use the workspace to settle how your team applies a standard, which controls count as sufficiently mitigating, and how to answer the questions that come up in every review. Discuss a system's threats in the thread next to the finding, and ask the agent to pressure-test your reasoning. Decisions stay with the review, where the next reviewer can find them.

## Why not just use a shared doc?

Shared docs, whiteboards, and AI assistants each cover part of how teams collaborate. Clearly AI brings the three together around the review itself.

- **Comments change the review.** Answers and new context feed back into the findings, instead of sitting in a thread no one rereads.
- **Diagram edits change the threat model.** Edit the architecture and the threat model updates.
- **The AI works from your review.** The agent answers from the review's sources, your policies, and what your team has already said, and your whole team sees the same answer.
- **Every contribution is on the record.** Who asked, who answered, who accepted the risk, and when. That's the audit trail a doc or whiteboard can't give you.

## Know when someone needs you

Get notified when someone asks you a question, mentions you, or needs your decision, by email, in Slack, or through Jira. Business owners don't need to check another tool to keep a review moving.

_Example Jira comment from the Clearly AI bot asking a business owner two follow-up questions from a security review_

> **Clearly AI bot** on SEC-482 (Payments API: security review):
>
> [Clearly AI] Security review for Payments API needs your input.
>
> @Dana Lee 2 follow-up questions need an answer before the review can finish:
>
> 1. Does the service store cardholder data outside the US?
> 2. Who approves access to the production database?
>
> Answer in Clearly AI

## Less back-and-forth for everyone

- **~90%** reduction in time per review
- **4x** review capacity with the same headcount

> “As soon as we started using Clearly AI, we saw an immediate reduction in the amount of time that not only my team was spending on the reviews, but that the business owners were actually spending having to give us the answers for the assessments.”

_FAQ_

## Answers to your top questions

### What is security review collaboration?

Security review collaboration is how security teams, business owners, and other review teams share context, questions, and decisions during a review. In Clearly AI, each system under review has one shared workspace where people comment, answer questions, edit the diagram, and ask the AI agent, and the review updates as new context comes in.

### Do business stakeholders need a Clearly AI license?

No. Product owners and other business stakeholders can join a review, answer questions, and track findings for free.

### How do business owners get questions from the security team?

Security sends follow-up questions from the review. Business owners receive them by email, in Slack, or in Jira, and can answer directly or forward a question to a teammate.

### What happens when someone adds new context to a review?

Clearly AI suggests re-running the review so the findings reflect the new information. Each finding cites its sources, including the person who provided the context.

### Can we edit the architecture diagram together?

Yes. Open the diagram in Draw.io from the review and edit it with your team. When the diagram changes, the threat model updates to match.

### Can privacy, GRC, and legal teams see security reviews?

Yes. Privacy, compliance, GRC, legal, and AI governance teams can join reviews, follow the reviews relevant to their domain, and see decisions other teams have made.

### How is this different from reviewing in a shared doc or whiteboard?

General-purpose docs and whiteboards hold the conversation, but they don't change the review. In Clearly AI, answers, comments, and diagram edits feed back into the findings, every contribution is attributed, and the AI agent works from the review's own sources.

### Is there a record of who accepted a risk?

Yes. When a business owner marks an issue fixed or accepts the risk, that decision is recorded on the finding with who made it and when.
