_Third-party risk management_

# Every vendor reviewed against your standards

Clearly AI reads the vendor package for you: statements of work, security questionnaires, audit reports, contracts, and public documentation. It applies your review criteria and drafts the findings and a recommendation in your team's format, with every answer cited to its source. Your analyst gets a completed review to confirm, and nothing closes without their approval.

## Why does a routine vendor review take weeks?

Every new vendor, renewal, and statement of work lands in the same queue. Analysts read questionnaires, SOC 2 reports, pen test summaries, and contracts line by line, checking each one against a long list of required controls. The process is well defined. The volume is high. And the security value of any single review rarely justifies the hours it takes.

The work also stalls before it starts. Questionnaires sit with business owners for weeks, and the answers that come back are their best guess at what the vendor does. Two analysts can read the same package and reach different conclusions. Review criteria change while old reviews still reflect the old standard. Meanwhile procurement waits, and the business looks for a way around security.

## How it works

1. **Ingest**

A new request in ServiceNow, Jira, or your procurement intake starts the review. Clearly AI pulls in the attachments, then fills in context from the vendor's website, trust center, and public documentation. If evidence is still missing, invite the vendor to the vendor portal from the review.

2. **Triage**

Clearly AI scores each vendor by risk level and category, and your workflow routes it to the review you've set for that tier. A low-risk SaaS tool gets a lighter assessment. A vendor handling customer data gets the full one.

3. **Review**

Clearly AI answers your review criteria from the documents, flags missing or conflicting information, and drafts findings and a recommendation. Every answer links to the page it came from.

4. **Approve and record**

Your analyst checks the draft, edits where they disagree, and approves it. The decision goes back to the ticket, and the vendor record and risk registry update.

_Vendor evidence_

## Start from the documents the vendor already sent

Most of what you need to assess a vendor is already in the documents they sent you. Clearly AI reads them so your analysts don't have to.

- **Every document in the package:**
Statements of work, security questionnaires, SOC 2 and ISO 27001 reports, pen test summaries, MSAs, DPAs, policies, and architecture diagrams. PDF, Word, Excel, scans, and images are all supported.
- **Context from outside the package:**
Clearly AI collects the vendor's public security documentation, privacy policies, and trust center pages, and cites them the same way
- **Gaps and conflicts flagged:**
When the SOC 2 report says one thing and the questionnaire says another, or a required control isn't covered anywhere, Clearly AI marks it as missing or conflicting instead of guessing
- **Evidence collected straight from the vendor:**
When the package is incomplete, invite the vendor to the vendor portal from the review. They upload their SOC 2 report, policies, and pen test results, and Clearly AI uses that evidence to answer your review. Vendor-supplied documents are labeled as sources, so your team can tell them from its own.
- **One review, nothing else:**
Vendors only see the review they were invited to. They can't see your workspace, other projects, or internal evidence, and you can withdraw access at any time.

_Your criteria_

## Your criteria. Your format. Every finding traced.

Clearly AI applies the review criteria your team already owns, in the format your reviewers already use.

- **Your criteria, live in hours:**
Upload your vendor and SOW review criteria, control library, or acceptance thresholds as a spreadsheet or policy document. Clearly AI turns them into a review template in hours.
- **Framework mapping and risk scoring:**
Map findings to frameworks like NIST SP 800-53 and NIST SP 800-171, or to your own control set, and score risk with your own methodology
- **The format your reviewers already use:**
Findings and the recommendation come out in your existing review layout, and Word exports fill your organization's template automatically
- **Reasoning you can follow:**
Every finding shows the criterion it was tested against and the document, page, and passage behind it. Reviewers can hover over any answer to see exactly where it came from.

> "Citations and sources are very important to me and it's essential for due diligence as well. If somebody's going to come back and look at this material, they need to be able to easily see where did that answer come from."

_Human approval_

## The agent completes the review. Your analyst closes it.

Clearly AI can do every part of a vendor or SOW review. It can't approve one. A person on your team makes the decision of record, every time.

- **A completed review, ready to confirm:**
Analysts open a finished draft with findings, a recommendation, and citations
- **Edit, challenge, or rerun:**
Analysts can change any answer, ask the Clearly AI agent why it reached a finding, or rerun the review when new documents arrive
- **An explicit approval of record:**
A request only closes when a named analyst takes an approval action. Clearly AI records who approved it, when, and against which version of your criteria.
- **Conditional approvals and risk acceptance:**
Approve with conditions, or accept a risk with a required justification, and the decision is recorded on the risk

> "Now we can essentially pop it into Clearly AI and we immediately get the initial analysis for us to look at and it saves us a ton of time and a ton of CMD+F."

_Workflow-native_

## Runs inside your ServiceNow queue

Your vendor review process already has a system of record. Clearly AI works inside it instead of adding another tool to check.

- **Requests start reviews:**
A new ServiceNow request, or one from Jira or your procurement intake, triggers the review with its attachments. Nobody needs to start it by hand.
- **Review queue and confirmation step:**
Completed reviews wait in your analysts' queue for confirmation, so the workflow your team already knows stays the same
- **Close in one action:**
When the analyst approves, the report and comments are written back to the request and it closes
- **Fits the intake you already run:**
Clearly AI attaches to the intake your vendor management and sourcing teams already use, so business owners don't learn a new process
- **Works with OneTrust:**
Check vendor risk, privacy, and AI governance assessments in OneTrust against the review Clearly AI produced

![A Clearly AI workflow that takes a new intake review, branches into cyber due diligence, data protection, SaaS, responsible AI, OT and IT assessments, and sends results to ServiceNow and OneTrust or tags the project.](https://clearly-ai.com/solutions/third-party-risk-workflow-diagram-v2.svg)

[See the ServiceNow integration](https://clearly-ai.com/integrations)

_Consistency_

## How do you know the agent agrees with your analysts?

An automated review is only useful if it reaches the conclusions your analysts would. Clearly AI shows you the evidence before you rely on it.

- **Test against your own past reviews:**
Give Clearly AI a held-back sample of reviews your analysts have already completed. It reviews the same packages and reports where its findings agree with your team's and where they don't.
- **Same inputs, same conclusions:**
Versioned review templates mean the same package reviewed against the same criteria produces the same findings, and every result is tied to the template version that produced it
- **Criteria that keep up with your standards:**
When your vendor review standards change, update the criteria and Clearly AI versions the change. New reviews use the new standard. Past reviews show which version they were reviewed against, and you can rerun any of them on the new one.
- **Your team owns the criteria:**
Your security team updates criteria directly, with no vendor ticket or engineering sprint, so the system keeps pace with your standards after rollout. Rollout includes operating documentation for updating criteria as standards change.

_Vendor inventory_

## One vendor record for the whole enterprise

Every review adds to a single vendor inventory that security, privacy, procurement, and GRC all use.

- **One record per vendor:**
See every review, risk, and open question for a vendor in one place, across years and renewals
- **Usage across the business:**
See which projects use each vendor, the fourth and nth parties behind it, and the processing activities it supports
- **Risks that follow the vendor:**
Findings go to the risk registry with an owner and an SLA due date, and they're linked back to the vendor and the review
- **One license, every review type:**
The same platform runs your threat models, privacy impact assessments, and AI risk reviews. 75% of the reviews customers run on Clearly AI are privacy, vendor risk, compliance, and AI governance.

_FAQ_

## Answers to your top questions

### What is third-party risk management automation?

Third-party risk management (TPRM) automation uses software to handle the repetitive parts of vendor due diligence: collecting documents, checking them against required controls, and drafting findings. Clearly AI automates that work with agents that read the vendor package, apply your review criteria, and produce a cited draft review for an analyst to approve.

### Can Clearly AI review a statement of work?

Yes. Clearly AI ingests statements of work and full vendor packages, including questionnaires, audit reports, contracts, and technical documentation. It checks them against your SOW and vendor review criteria and drafts findings and a recommendation.

### Does Clearly AI replace security analysts?

No. Clearly AI can complete every part of a vendor review, but a named analyst must take an explicit approval action to close each request. Clearly AI records who approved it, when, and against which criteria version.

### Can Clearly AI use our own review criteria?

Yes. Upload your existing vendor and SOW review criteria, control library, or acceptance thresholds, and Clearly AI turns them into a review template in hours. Findings are drafted in the format your reviewers use today.

### How do we know Clearly AI's findings match our analysts' judgment?

Run a consistency test. Give Clearly AI a held-back sample of reviews your analysts have already completed. It reviews the same packages and reports where its findings agree with your team's. Versioned templates keep results consistent on the same inputs.

### How does Clearly AI handle review criteria that change over time?

Review templates are versioned. When standards change, your team updates the criteria and Clearly AI records the new version. Every review shows which version it used, and past reviews can be rerun against the current standard.

### Does Clearly AI integrate with ServiceNow?

Yes. ServiceNow requests can trigger reviews, completed reviews go to the analyst confirmation step, and the report and comments are written back to the request. Clearly AI also works with Jira and OneTrust.

See the ServiceNow integration

### What vendor documents can Clearly AI read?

PDF, Word, and Excel files, scanned documents, images, and diagrams. That includes SOC 2 and ISO 27001 reports, security questionnaires, pen test summaries, MSAs, DPAs, statements of work, and vendor policies. Clearly AI can also collect a vendor's public security and privacy documentation.

### Can Clearly AI map vendor findings to NIST?

Yes. NIST SP 800-53 and NIST SP 800-171 are supported today, and you can map findings to your own control set instead.

See how review templates work

### Does Clearly AI continuously monitor vendors?

No. Clearly AI runs a structured assessment when a vendor is onboarded, renewed, or changes scope, using the documents and information available at that point. Results go to a single vendor record, so each new review builds on the last.

### Can vendors upload evidence directly into a review?

Yes. Invite a vendor to a review by email or with a shareable link, and they upload documents such as SOC 2 reports, policies, and pen test results through the vendor portal. Vendors only see the review they were invited to, and the documents they submit are labeled as vendor-supplied sources. Your analysts check every answer before the review is approved.
